I’ve been lucky enough to count Carmen Rita Wong as a friend for a long time—ever since she hosted a CNBC show called On the Money, and I was assigned to interview her as a reporter for the New York Post. We sometimes spoke about a mystery buried deep in her family’s history—and I always wanted to know more about this haunting story. Lucky for me (and for readers), she shares all the details in her new book, Why Didn’t You Tell Me?, which we named one of our top 10 memoirs of July.
